Crosslinking Surgery

This is a procedure designed for the hardening of corneal collagen seen in young patients with keratoconus and in corneal ectasias after LASIK refractive surgery.

Crosslinking is a procedure that is performed in operating rooms. It consists of applying drops of vitamin B2 (riboflavin) after the corneal epithelium has been lifted and the corneal surface has been exposed to a controlled ultraviolet light.
